Privacy Policy

Plantive ("we", "us", or "our") is a product of Viva Apps Yazılım ve Danışmanlık Sanayi ve Ticaret Limited Şirketi. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Plantive mobile application and website at plantive.app. By using Plantive, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1 Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly and information generated as you use the app:
- Account details — your email address used for OTP-based authentication.
- Plant data — photos you upload for AI identification, plant names, care settings, and watering logs you create.
- Environment data — pot type, soil, light conditions, and appliance proximity you enter during onboarding.
- Location data — your approximate location (city-level) to fetch live weather for care recommendations. We do not track precise GPS coordinates.
- Usage data — in-app events, feature interactions, and session information used to improve the product.
- Device information — device model, OS version, and app version for diagnostics.
- Payment data — subscription purchases are processed securely through Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
2 How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Identify your plants using the Claude AI vision model and generate personalised care schedules.
- Fetch live weather data for your location to dynamically adjust watering recommendations.
- Send care reminders and task notifications you have opted into.
- Process subscription purchases and manage your account.
- Diagnose bugs, improve performance, and develop new features.
- Respond to your support requests.
We do not use your plant photos or personal data to train AI models. Images are sent to the AI identification service solely to return a result, and are not retained by the model provider beyond the duration of the request.
3 Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with the third-party services required to operate Plantive:
- Anthropic (Claude AI) — plant photos and descriptions are sent to Claude's API solely to return an identification result. Anthropic's data handling is governed by their privacy policy.
- OpenWeather — your approximate location is used to request weather data. No personally identifiable information is shared.
- Cloud infrastructure — we use AWS (Amazon Web Services) for hosting, file storage (S3), and email delivery (SES). Data is stored in servers within the EU/EEA where possible.
- Analytics — anonymised usage events may be sent to analytics providers to understand how the app is used. These cannot be used to identify you.
- Apple & Google — subscription and payment data is handled by the respective app stores under their own privacy policies.
All third-party providers are bound by contractual obligations to process your data only as instructed and to maintain appropriate security standards.
4 Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.
You can request account deletion at any time by contacting us at support@plantive.app. Plant photos uploaded for AI identification are not stored after the identification response is returned.
5 Children's Privacy
Plantive is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately at support@plantive.app and we will delete it promptly.
6 Security
We take the security of your data seriously. We use industry-standard measures including:
- TLS encryption for all data transmitted between your device and our servers.
- Secure, hashed storage of authentication credentials.
- Access controls limiting who within our team can access user data.
- Regular security reviews of our infrastructure and dependencies.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
7 Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion — request that we delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we process your data in certain circumstances.
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@plantive.app. We will respond within 30 days. If you are located in the EU, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through an in-app notification or by email to the address associated with your account. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
Continued use of Plantive after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
